Peterborough and Echt/NL

Finally Summer and we are participating at a Show. In fact I should have been sitting in a relaxed atmosphere on a bar terrace and enjoy life, but no, I am traveling through the worlds history to get a Title or BOB. My own fault, nobody is forcing me to do this, only my own ambition, still burning inside me. On Friday 05-07-2013 a CC Show was held in Peterborough. It was last year, at this same show, that Doro got her first CC. A she has 2 CC and 3 are needed for the Title of English Champion, we are doing this nonsense and keep driving back and forward to the UK. It does not just cost a tremendous amount of time, but also a lot of money. Kevin Young, who breeds Bearded Collies and in the mean time judges several Breeds, was the judge. 47 OES had been entered. Doro was in Open Class with 9 competitors, of which 4 did not show up. From the 47 eneterd OES’, only 16 where male and that means that there where 31 bitches starting. The weather was gorgeous and the judging took place in the tent, of which the ring continued outside. Doro always thinks it is funny to come out of the shade in the tent and go running into the open air. Doro really felt like it, did very well and won the Open Class. Now we were very close to our victory. But the judge set his mind on a young bitch from the Post Graduate Class and the Res-CC was given to the bitch from the Limit Class. You can not imagine how disappointed I was at that specific moment. This is now the third show this year in the UK and still haven’t achieved our goal. Also having in the back of my mind that visiting a show in the UK costs me between 550 and 75o Euro, depending on the distance, I am asking myself the question, if I am not completely out of my mind? Bit I think that Doro is a beautiful bitch who deserves carrying this Title. So, we continue. There is only one obstacle, the judges this year are not completely according to my taste. Why? That, I rather not speak out in public, as I assume that I will end up at the stake. What a luck for me that Harry was so kind to join me and that made everything much easier. That means that traveling with the two of us is better than traveling alone. On Thursday we visited the stables for the Agricultural Show  in Peterborough and where amazed about the trimming, washing and drying of cows, cattle and sheep. They are as crazy as us dog people.

The only advantage of this journey was: there where no traffic jams and we where back home around 22.00 hrs on Friday evening. Saturdays I had to was and comb my Niki and Schoko for the Show in Echt the next day. Echt is situated at approximately 6 kilometers of Maaseik and is home of the club where I go to on Monday evenings for the ring training. It is an Outdoor Show and as said, the weather was gorgeous and at the Show in Echt it is always pleasant. The Swedish Judge, Mr Stafberg had to judge 15 OES and we where anxious to find out what he was going to do. He judged the males to my taste. Best Male and also new Netherlands Champion became the father of our puppies. It is Elke and Klaus Blazek-Häpp’s  “Ch. Jack Sparrow aus der Boverheide”. Congratulations. My Niki (Aryakas Niki Elbe-Urstromtal) was alone in the Youth Class and received her first Youth CAC. My Jadore was in the Champion Class with two other Bitches and became 2nd. Doro is a smaller feminine bitch and in front of me stood the really large bitch of Willy van Opijnen, who, by the way, has a wonderful coat. I don’t mind Willy winning, but according to my opinion, Doro should have won. After this I had to go back in the ring with Niki for the CAC (that, in the Netherlands,  is higher classified than the CACIB) and to which also the Best Bitch is connected. This was won by Willy and her bitch and we didn’t even have to move again, something that is very unusual. After this Jadore had to go back into the ring, because she had become 2nd in the Champion Class and now had to go for the Res-CAC. That I received with Niki. In fact I should be glad that I received a full CAC, due to the fact that the winning bitch is already a Netherlands Champion. But I was angry and furious, because Niki is not tat far that she could have won over Doro. For the BOB where we had a big male and a bitch, which was for a an outsider not clearly visible recognizable as a bitch due to her size. I assume that Mr. Stafberg got blinded by the sun. Anyway Willy won BOB with her bitch, who is a daughter of our own “Eldorado”. Of course I enjoyed it, but was not quite satisfied.
