50 years breeding, in the spotlight at Rashondenonline

This Old English Sheepdogs kennel is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but Cornelia Loest is not thinking about stopping anytime soon…

In 1971 Conny bought her first Bobtail “Cora vom Glinder Berg” and in 1973 her first litter of Bobtails was born. Since 1988, when Conny lived in Almkerk (NL), the “Firstprizebears” Bearded Collies were added, but this year her Bearded Collie breeding was taken over by a breeder from Ireland. Bobtails are and remain Conny’s great passion.

Numerous champions  ( 172) have passed through the past fifty years, but for Conny some of these dogs have been very special: Ch. Kassenknüller aus dem  Elbe-Urstromtal produced no fewer than 17 champions, Ch. Y’Lookalike aus dem  Elbe-Urstromtal who became her first English champion and Crufts winner, Ch. Not For Sale aus dem  Elbe Urstromtal who became the best dog of all breeds in the Netherlands in 1999, Best in Show Winner Ch. Eldorado in the Elbe Urstromtal; just to name a few from a long line of top dogs.

In the case of Cornelia Loest, I think you can certainly speak of a real passion for Bobtails – everything in her life revolves around the dogs: daily care, brushing, getting them ready for shows, caring for puppies, and participating in shows at home and abroad. Even someone who has been working with dogs for more than 50 years continues to do so with the utmost dedication.

I would like to congratulate Conny on her 50th anniversary and her persistent commitment to the Old English Sheepdog with this short contribution.
