Niki wins in Maastricht

Traditionally, during the last weekend of September, the Double Show of Maastricht is held. This beautiful Burgundy town in the utmost southern part of Limburg, the Netherlands, is already worth the journey by itself. Having twice a change on a CACIB and a CAC is a very tempting event.
The first day, the wellknown Breed Specialist Barrie Croft from the United Kingdom judged and on the second day, the also wellknown Des Manton from Ireland. I had entered our “Niki” for both days, because I needed one more point for the Netherlands Champion Title or winning a Res-CAC. It was Saturday, a wonderful late Summer day and I spend the day together with Schoko (our Beardie bitch), King and Niki in the MECC, the Halls where the Show of Maastricht is held. Fourteen OES had been entered, of which 5 males, all in the Champion Class! Everyone of them a different type. One male had come over from Southern France and had already won under Mr. Croft in Spain and Bremen/GER last year. That was also going to be the case this year and our beautiful masculine “King” became 2nd from 5, with Res-CACIB and Res-CAC. The judging report has been written so wonderfully that it should be framed. “Niki” was in Open Classe with 4 other Bitches. This time Niki won and became Best Bitch and got, by becoming so, the Netherlands Champion Title with her 27 months.

As well Niki as our Beardie Bitch both, had won their respective Titles on Saturday. King had not been entered for the Sunday. Due to this victories, it was no longer necessary, to show on Sunday. A pity for the entree fees (€110), but a free Sunday with beuatiful weather, together with Harry was simply said more attracting. Only our Smokey, our brown Beardie Bitch, decided to change these plans by herself and getting her babies that day 🙂

The Champion Class Males: Aryakas Midas (Ex 1) – Not on the picture – , Youandi Grand Cru (Ex 4), Danish Delight Quaterback (Ex 3,) Koboy of Snowboot Bears (withdrawn) and our Kingsize aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal (Ex 2)

A special thank you to Valerie Labous and the Silberhorn family for the pictures.
