Doro had an exhausting weekend

Last weekend stood in the sign of the European FCI Show in Leeuwarden, all the way in the high north of the Netherlands. Sunday was the big CACIB Show and on Saturday morning the Dutch OES Club had organized the Young Dog day and in the afternoon the Yearly CC-Clubshow. Since many years, for many reasons, I do not go to Shows organized by this Club. However, Chris Beirendonk, quasi the Grandmother of our “Doro” (Jadore aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal), wanted to show Doro. She convinced me and I entered our 13 month old “Doro” for both shows.

Friday evening, Doro was fresh washed and groomed and delivered to Chris. From that moment on it was waiting for a message. In the afternoon the first call that Mrs Heidi Müller-Heintz had placed her on the 1st place in the Youth Class, but things went strangely. After the break in the afternoon it was radio silence. No more messages. In the evening we were supposed to pick up “Doro” in the 38 kilometer far away Drachten, at the Hotel were Chris stayed. Finally around 18.30 hrs I received Chris and wanted to know the results from the show and at what time she would arrive at the hotel. The only thing she said was: Put the Champagne cold….”! As we already were in the restaurant we immediately ordered a bottle, but it took at least another 30 minutes before I knew what Doro had done.

Incognito of Snowbootbears, Doro’s father became Best of Breed and with this victory also Dutch Champion. Our “Doro”, judged by Mr. Wibier, became 1st in the Youth Class and the English Co-Judge Mrs. June Wilkinson gave her the Res-CAC. So she was the second best bitch of the Show!!!! Yessssss, I was out of myself for joy. Chris also told us that at the end, there were everything counts, “Doro” didn’t want to movek as well as in the morning. Otherwise she would have been Best Bitch.

Doesn’t matter. The Champagne cork cracked and we had a very pleasant evening in company of our dear friend Lenka Klimova. Oh, before I forget Jarko of Snowbootbears, the beautiful son of our “Excalibur” also won the Youth Class. “Doro” was exhausted and after 2 liters of water and some meatloaf only wanted to go to sleep. Chris almost fell asleep in the restaurant on a plate of lettuce.

Sunday was the big European FCI Show in Leeuwarden/NL. The Bobtails were judged by Mrs M. Brenner from Austria. As my confidence in her judging skills are not that good, we had entered “Doro” in the Youth Class. A wise decision. Our beautiful Doro had to be satisfied with a second place. The rest of the result didn’t appeal to me, but that is my personal opinion.
