Exhibition September 2022

September was a bit of free time for Paul and me. We went on vacation for 6 days.

Then it started again with brushing the dogs and exhibitions. On Saturday 9-9-2022 there was the Int. Exhibition in Genk/BEL. This is our house contest, just 14 miles drive. It was judged by the well-known Spanish all-rounder Mr. Alcrudo. My expectations of him were high, too high! It was not possible for him to appreciate the excellent quality of our “Lilou”. She received the CACIB and CAC but was not best bitch. This became the 11-month-old bitch from the youth class. That’s how it is sometimes. I gave Mr. Alcurdo the tip that he is welcome to contact me if he would like to learn something more about the Bobtail breed.

At 2 p.m. I was back home. Exchanged the Lilou for the Ocean, packed my suitcase, packed up Kinga and her “Cloe” and drove 220 km to Zwolle/NL. Lovely hotel with very good food and a lot of fun together with Kinga. The next morning around 8 a.m. there was so much fog that I feared that the judge would no longer see the dog running in the ring. It cleared up around 9 a.m. and shortly after 10 a.m. we were in the ring in the sunshine. Mrs van Veen/NL judged the 5 registered bitches. There were 2 Elbe-Urstromtaler in the youth class with 11 months: “Unisono aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” alias Cloe van Kinga and Gerda Jolink with her “Ultra Chic aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”. There was also an open class and a 2nd bitch in the champion class at Ocean.

It was exciting in the youth class, “Cloe” was shown as always top by Priscilla van Oosten. She came in 2nd place behind “Ultrachic”.

On September 18th, 2022 it was finally that time again. The exhibition in Maastricht/NL. One of my favorite shows. It is always somehow cozy and there is enough space. Judge this year for the 7 OES (1 male) was Mr. Fricke from Germany. “Uschi” had her first show in the intermediate class, where you can register from the age of 15 months. The only positive thing about this otherwise very disappointing day was that “Uschi” got the full CACIB. The bitch that won the champion class is already an international champion. The rest was frustrating and I re-read the breed standard at home to make sure my idea of the OES was still correct. The bobtail must still have a gently rising topline, something very typical of the breed! Depth of chest should still be up to the elbows and the angulations in the fore and hindquarters should still be excellent. On top free of legginess and thick-set muscular, able-bodied dog with a most intelligent expression. But the judge is always right…

Also on Sunday, September 18th, 2022, the CAC show of the Club for British Herding Dogs Luxembourg took place in Weisswampach in Luxembourg. Ms. Kips had stepped in as a substitute judge for Ms. Gloria Wagner. Ms. Kips was probably not very good on her feet and could only judge while sitting.

Mr. Grimm won the 2nd CAC in Luxembourg with his “Ch. Tannhäuser aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” and is now  Luxembourg Champion

Martina Weissmann only went to this exhibition for fun. “Ch. Sexygirl aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” is already a Luxembourg champion. Both have fun exhibiting. “Ziva” became Best Bitch that day.

On 15-9-2022 a show took place in California/USA at the Solana County Fairground. Our dear Georgina Jensen had her baptism of fire in the show ring with her “Fritzi”. “Underpressure aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” is the litter sister of “Ultrachic” and also only 11 months old. She won 1st place and became Best.

On September 18th, 2022 it was the first exhibition for “Louis” in Darlington / GB. He was shown in the puppy class, he is only  6 months old. He took 2nd place against the much older other male. Judge was B.M. Young/GB.

On Sunday, September 25th, 2022, the big exhibition “Copenhagen Winner” took place in Copenhagen/DK. I think there were 3000 dogs registered. The 17 OES were judged by breed specialist Mrs. Lisa Thielfold-Nielsen/DK.

Best of Breed was Ch. “Seepferdchen aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” owned by Amilia Helin from Sweden. “Rolfi” had a perfect day. In the strong group 1 he took 2nd place with the English all-rounder Mr. Wilberg.

The conclusion on September 25th is made by “Aramis”.

He is at home in Guatemala and had his 2nd show this weekend as a puppy. It is owned by Angelica Cordova. The well-known handler David Padilla had come all the way from Mexico to help Angelica with “Aramis”.
