Winner Amsterdam
During the past weekend, Amsterdam was the “epic-centre” for the fanatic Dog Shower. On Friday, in the RAI (the show ground of Amsterdam), the Holland Cup was held. A one day CACIB Show, held before the actual Winner Amsterdam took place. Our OES’ where judged by Mr. Hans van den Berg/NL. Six OES had been entered, 3 Males and 3 Bitches. From these 3 Bitches, 2 didn’t show up.
These where the 2 Bitches that where going to be shown on Saturday evening, during the Eukanuba World Challenge and who represented their respective countries: Hungary and Switserland. Due to this, Chris Beirendonk with her beautiful Ch. Koko Chanell aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal became Best Bitch. Thanks to this victory, “Chanelle” is now the Top winning OES-Bitch of 2014 in the Netherlands. Unfortunatelly no pictures where made. On Saturday evening the Eukanuba World Challenge was held . Many countries from all over the world had send a dog to Amsterdam, in order to fight for the Title.I got a Invitation from Eukanuaba to enjoy this Event but decieded not to go. I would have to have left home at 15.00 hours to make sure that I could be at 17.00 in Amsterdam and leave again at 21.00 and drive another 2 hours before being back home. The alarm clock had been set that Sunday morning at 03.30! Therefore via live stream the show was followed. On Sunday, the Winner Amsterdam 2014 for both of our breeds was held. It was in 1975 that I participated for the first time at this Winner Show, by then also held in the RAI. During the Eighties, we needed three rings; Males, Bitches, and Youth Class with 3 judges. 170 OES….. By that time we also won. This year, 14 OES had been entered at this famous Show. 7 Males and 7 Bitches. The judge this day was Misses Dagmar Klein from Roumania. Chris had decided to stay at home and that was a good decision, because (in fact) we all new that the Best Of Breed winner would come from one of the two participants at the Eukanuba World Challenge. As said, at 03.30 the alarm clock went off. Leaving at 05.00 and arriving at the parking in Amsterdam at 07.00. At 07.30 hrs we where at the ring in the Hall with both of our dogs. We had brought King and our Bearded Collie Bitch Prada. It would become a little bit stressful as both dogs where going to be judged at approximately the same time. King gave an excellent impression and Mrs. Klein was conviced of his qualities. Something that she expressed in the judging report. He became Best Male and Winner Amsterdam 2014. Thanks to this victory he now is the TOP OES 2014 in the Netherlands. In 2012 and 2013 he was the Best Male. Harry was already waiting, together with Prada, at the Bearded Collie ring. Luckily the judging here went a little slow and therefore I was able to show Prada myself. BUT: Harry had to go back to show King, for Best Of Breed. Both of us knew that King was not going to make it. Harry went in and 20 seconds later the decision had been made , the Hungarian Bitch from the Eukanuba World Challenge had become Best Of Breed. We where more than satisfied, as we had achieved that what we had hoped for. Fortunately Nelleke Meijer had made a picture of the winning males.
On the left Sjaak Meijer with Ch. Danish Delight Quaterback, Res-Best Male, the judge Mrs. Dagmar Klein and on the right our Top OES 2014 and Winner Amsterdam “Kingsize aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal.
