Shows in January 2026
The year 2026 begins with a BEST IN SHOW for our exceptional “CARO” Super Multi Ch. “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
10-1-2026 Int. Show in Kassel/GER, breed judge was Mrs. E. Ertl from Austria
The BOS male was Mag Garit’s Blue Max
Group 1 was judged by the German all-rounder Mr. R. Blessing and he gave “Caro” 1st place (that was her 10th Group 1 in 4 countries)

After that, “Caro” impressed again with her exceptional movement

The well-known all-rounder and Bobtail specialist, Mr. N. Smolic from Croatia, was enthusiastic about “Caro” and made her BEST IN SHOW (that was the 2nd time she won Best in Show)

Impressions of this day
Afterwards, “Caro” had to take an extensive beauty sleep in our hotel

In the morning, the alarm went off again at 4:45 am, to wait at around 7 am in minus 8 degrees for access to the 2nd day of the CACIB in Kassel. Judging started at 10 am, of the 13 registered dogs, 6 were missing. That was certainly due to the heavy snow and ice on the roads in northern Germany.
On 11-01-2026, the all-rounder and breed specialist Mr. N. Smolic/HR judges our breed.
Best of Breed was “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” with an beautiful judge’s report, BOS was Gesa Milde with her “Ch. Wanted you aus dem Elbe-Urstromt”

Mr. C.-P.Fricke/GER, chairman of the British Shepherds, judged Group 1 and could not bring himself to let “Caro” win again. So for “Caro” and me, it was 2nd place.

At 8:30 pm we were back home with a big pile of rosettes and trophies.
What an investment… in what?
2 days dog show in Kassel.
Whether you win or lose, the costs are the same.
Entry fees per day. 55 and 70 €
3 days dog sitter. 280 €
700 km petrol. 110 €
2 nights in the hotel with the dog, without breakfast, but 2 lunch boxes. 312 €
2 x dinner, drinks, coffee and cake. 219 €
Coffee 3 days. 25 €
The total amount comes to 1,071.00 euros for a weekend.
The economic impact of dog shows is underestimated by the anti-pedigree dog lobby!!!
Can I ask more money for puppies? NO
I am the fool who invests in shows and does not spend my puppy money on luxury holidays, a new car or renovations to the house.
Me, the lucky one: Our Caro became Best in Show
The next day second in the group
These are the prizes we won

Our dear Martina Weissmann braved the bad weather and set off for Belgium, to the CAC Show in Genk. That’s just around the cornerof our home. The well-known and very good all-rounder Mr. Rob Douma was to judge the OES. Only 800 dogs were entered in 2 days. The judges were cancelled and those who judged what was on the wishing list of the comitee were left over. Actually, no wonder. Here it is possible for judges to let show their own dogs while judging in another ring themselves.
In any case, Martina with her “Tilly” was the only Bobtail shown.
BOB “Ch. West Side Story aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”

In Group 1 there was no place for the two, the first 3 places were all for judges who showed their own dogs. The 2nd place with the Bearded Collie was for the judge who acted as judge on the same day. It’s a shame!

On the last weekend in January, there was a double CACIB show in Kaunas, Lithuania. Our ‘Y’Limmerick aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ was very successful on both days with his owner, Mr Gerulis Vaidas. On both days, he won Excellent 1 in the junior class, received the Junior CACIB and was named Best Male. The judges were both from Ukraine: Ms T. Borriciva and Ms G. Kalinichento.
