Seminars in the Czech Republic
At the start of the year, the president of the Czech Bearded Collie Club asked me to hold a seminar in Jihlava, the Czech Republic, on 22 August 2026. The topic: How to choose the right puppy.
I was delighted to accept this invitation. For many years, I have demonstrated at dog shows and to visitors at our home how a Bearded Collie or Old English Sheepdog should be correctly built. Only a dog with the correct angulation is healthy and can perform its tasks with minimal energy expenditure.
This is precisely what is required to select the best puppy from a litter at the age of 6 weeks.
I have created a PowerPoint presentation on this very challenging topic.
Later, some Bobtail breeders asked if I could do the same for the OES. OF COURSE I can.
On 22 August 2026, the Bearded Collie Club’s club show took place in Jihlava. Fifty-five Beardies were entered for the Luxembourg judge, Ms Melchior. After the judging and a short lunch break, I gave my presentation from 2 pm until around 6 pm, answering lots of questions along the way. We had around 30 participants. Ms Melchior and Mr Krinke, both well-known judges, honored me with their attendance at my seminar. The President of the Collie Club was also present.
That morning, eight OES breeders and owners had made a special trip to attend my seminar on the OES.
It seems I managed to answer many unanswered questions with a touch of humor and expert knowledge. Numerous social media comments have confirmed this.
Thank you to the Czech Bearded Collie Club for the opportunity to share my knowledge.
Ms Lenka Klimova, the club’s president, translated everything into the local language.
