News August 2018

On the first weekend of August there was a double CACIB show in Hertogenbosch / NL. On Saturday, Mr. Wulteputte from Belgium judged our breed. There were only 4 Bobtails entered . 1 male and 3 females, two from Chris Beirendonk van Snowbootbears in the Open Class and Junior Class and Ch. Pipa Middelton from the Elbe-Urstromtal in the Champion Class. Owner Willy van Opijnen . “Pipa” was 3rd in the bitches, the judge said to Mrs. van Opijnen that Pipa has no full pigment around the eyes. Again quickly looked into the breed standard to be sure that I’m not mistaken. There is literally the Pigement around the eyes is desired, but not speak MUST.

The right and the left eye of Pipa.

On Sunday 5-8 Mrs. Gregori from Belgium should judge, which was ill, then Mr. Cupyer/BEL should judge . He had not yet received his allowances. Therefore Mrs. Timmermans-Kadenko / NL judged the 8 Bobtails. She found Ch. Pipa Middelton aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal“very beautiful with a great body and coat and made her  best of breed.” With this victory, “Pipa” has fulfilled all the conditions for the Dutch Champion What a worthy victory for to finish your titel.

Amsterdam was the EPI center of the dog world at the beginning of August. 33000 registered dogs for the World Show, the Benelux winner and the Special Show were present at the RAI trade fair. Regrettably, the show organizers did not invited breed specialists for the Bobtails. On the first day of the Benelux Winner, the well-known all-rounder  Mr. Leonard from Ireland judged our breed. There were 22 dogs registered and 20 were present. We had Anna and Sidney with us. Since it is known that the space is minimal at such events, it is advisable to be in the hall at 7 o’clock in the morning. Since the first judge in our ring did not keep to his given time, we were had to wait until 14 o’clock in the afternoon instead of 12 o’clock  in the morning. There was no judge’s report, no diplomas, no souvenir, simply nothing. Only the 4 winners from the youth and adult class got something out of plastic. That’s how it works on these shows.
