I’m angry!

In 54 years, I have never experienced anything as impossible as what happened on November 2, 2025, at the exhibition in Bleiswijk/NL!

I’m still angry!

Mr. Uwe Nölke from Germany was judging the OES at the exhibition in Bleiswijk. Last year, we won Best in Show there with “Caro”.

Actually, I didn’t need any qualifications at all. But since Mr. Nölke was judging in the Netherlands, I decided to enter our 19-month-old “Heidi”. That was already €67.50 for the entry fee.

Mr. Nölke only received 3 OES entries: 2 bitches in the champion class (Heidi and the Arykas bitch) and one bitch in the open class, who didn’t show up.

On Saturday, I washed, blow-dried, and brushed Heidi for 2.5 hours.

On Sunday morning, we left at 5:30 am to arrive on time at 7:30 am. It’s a 180 km drive one way. The dog sitter cost €100 for the day to take care of the 3 other dogs that stayed at home.

Of course, in the morning, “Heidi” and the other dogs were walked outside for about 30 minutes so all their business could be done.

At the exhibition, we looked for a spot near our ring. Paul took “Heidi” outside again to pee and poop.

I set everything up and got Heidi ready again. At 9:30, we were in the ring together with the other bitch.

“Heidi” is currently the most winning OES in the Netherlands and looked gorgeous, with full hair and great color, and the judge’s report confirms this. The competition was not pure in color and very short-haired. The lady didn’t even bring a brush into the ring.

Now we had to run 2 more rounds. In the last round, which we had completed 3/4 of, Heidi suddenly sat down and pooped. VERY embarrassing, but…

Paul cleaned it up immediately and I apologized to the judge for this mishap.

Now comes the unbelievable part!!!

Mr. Nölke said: “I can’t let you win now because your dog pooped in the ring! That’s forbidden!!!!”

“WHAT???!!! I can’t believe this,” was my answer. I thought he was joking, but no, he was serious!!!

I was FURIOUS!!!! I immediately filed a complaint with the exhibition organization.

After Mr. Nölke finished judging, I went to him again and asked where this rule is written that it’s forbidden for a dog to poop in the ring.

Mr. Nölke said: “This rule doesn’t exist! We’ve known each other for half a lifetime and it’s disrespectful to me as a judge to let your dog poop in the ring. That’s proof that you didn’t let him out beforehand!”

Now I was really angry…. “Mr. Nölke, you need to stop telling lies! The dog was let out at 5:30 and 8:30 and did his business twice.”

I reported this incident in writing to the organization and hope he will never be invited again. I also complained to the German VDH breed judge committee. I was told from a reliable source that this wasn’t the first time there have been incidents with him.

I wonder: Where is Mr. Nölke’s respect towards me? I have exhibited continuously for 54 years and am very well known in the dog world.

Besides, my “Heidi” won’t be the first or last dog at a show to poop in the ring. According to the exhibition regulations, there are buckets with sawdust and shovels to clean up any accidents.
