Groningen/NL and Drzonkow/PL

Groningen, is 340 Km in the utmost north of the Netherlands, in close vicinity of the German border near Emden. Misses ten Kate was the judge this day for the Bobtails and the Beardies. I just couldn’t resist and entered. In fact I should have had more common sense and not make this journey just for a Youth Class Bitch. BUT, sometimes common sense is far away from logic. However, on the other hand it was funny to start this trip with just “Schoko”, so quickly entered “Jadore”, our beautiful OES Bitch. The Mercure Hotel is at the back side of the Showing area, so an ideal place to spend the night. The Hellwig family from Rühn in Germany had also come and under the pleasure of a nice meal spend a lovely evening. Clever as I am, I decided to go to bed early to finally catch some sleep. BUT…… if in the rooms next to you, a bunch of youngster have been placed, than you won’t get much sleep. Around midnight the situation became even worse and the reception had to be involved and asked for help. At 00.30 it was finally quiet and at about 01.30, I fell a sleep. The alarm clock was set at 06.00 Hrs.

At 08.00 we where in the hall and were surrounded by a wonderful group of people, like the Hellwigs, Chris, Wim and Nette and the Mussche family. Unfortunately they where all disappointed after the judging, but I had nothing to complain about. Our “Doro” (Ch. Jadore aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal), received a beautiful judging report by Mrs. ten Cate and became Best of Breed. What does a person want more? Yes, winning with the Beardie, because that is why we drove. That also worked wonder well and became our “Schoko”with her 11 months of age, Best Bitch. After this the long waiting started to go into the Big Ring and waiting for Group 1, who as usual was judged as last group. The Group was also judged by Mrs. ten Cate and “Doro” showed herself from her best side, received a powerful applause and won the Group. What a day. Mr. Rainer Vuarinen from Finland judged the Best in Show and normally likes Bobtails. Unfortunately not this time and where the first three places for the smaller dogs, Poodle, Whippet and Am. Cocker. Doesn’t matter we were happy. It was 18.00 hrs and I had to drive to Bottrop to collect a dog. At 23.30 I we where back home. Doro and Schoko could sleep in on Monday and I had puppy visitors at the door from Hungary at 08.30

“Doro” won Group 1 in Groningen/NL

Mrs. Engel was in Drzonkow in Polen with her “Motte”. Mr. Borkowski/Pl judged the OES and gave “Karussel aus dem Elbe-Urstomtal” the Youth CAC, Best Youth Dog and also made her, with only 14 months, Best of Breed!
