Doro in Bath

Bath is a very ancient city with Roman Thermal Spa’s, in the wonderful Somerset. On Sunday an Outdoor Show was organized here. Mrs. Terry Cousins-Brown gave the CC for the first time and I wanted to take a chance. Our Doro (Multi Ch. Jadore aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal) already has 2 CC’s in the UK and for the Title you need 3. My co-traveler was Peggy Jeurissen. Saturday morning at 07.00 started de the journey and we wanted to take the shuttle at 11.15. BUT at this day was the Champions League Final….. The train had a delay of one and a half hours. The weather in the UK was beautiful, sunshine pure and pleasantly warm, something that is not common in May 2013. Normally it is not a problem to by pass London on a Saturday afternoon, but not on this day. After my navigation system told me to take a detour for the third time we stayed in the traffic jam, because we where scared that we would be traveling via Aberdeen. After a ten hour journey we arrived at the hotel. A beautiful mansion with side buildings and a golf court. A wonderful scenery. The grass was exceptional and we thought that this was made out of plastic, but it was real. Doro thought it was marvelous to do the pee and other things on the green. During the afternoon we scouted the area and if you have never been in Somerset you have really missed something. The city of Bath is worth a visit and we enjoyed our trip. Sunday morning at 06.00 the alarm clock went off, we wanted to be on the Show Ground at 07.30. Judging of the 52 entered OES, started at 10.00 hrs. Doro was in Open Class together with 8 other bitches and became 2nd. For this, all the stress, effort, time and money. Within 10 minutes my hope fell together like a house of cards. Than, only one thing helps, to get rid of the frustration: a big soft ice. In spite this we had lots of fun, as all the OES people were very kind and nice and we met a lot of old friends. The ambiance during an outdoor show in the UK is unique when the weather is well. Around 15.30 we started to travel back. Without traffic jam back to Dover with direction Tunnel, in the hope to get an earlier shuttle. Our train was planned at 21.20 and it would stay at that time. Everything was completely booked and therefore we could not get an earlier train. 2,5 hours waiting, read 22.20 our time, would bring that we would be at the other side at 23.00 and get home three hours later at 02.00. My creativity is enormous and due to this we managed to get the 18.15 shuttle. Arrival in Calais/FR: 19.45 our time. We survived 3 gigantic traffic jams and came home at 02.30 hours. Two hours of traffic jam. Monday I looked like a zombie, at least that is how I felt and Tuesday was migraine day……

But we will try again. Doro is a beautiful bitch.
