Caro’s puppies have been born

“Caro’s” pregnant belly was big, very big! I always said: she’s having 12 puppies.

And so it was. On the night of Saturday to Sunday, April 12, 2026, around 2 a.m., she gave birth to the first puppy. By 10 a.m., 10 males and 2 females were born. BUT unfortunately, 2 males and 1 female were stillborn. Despite all my experience, I couldn’t save them. Such a loss is very painful. Despite all the joy over 9 living puppies, the pain is great when you have to bury 3 dead puppies.

But everything is fine. Caro is a wonderful mother, and the puppies are growing well. We have a male weighing only 190 grams, which is VERY small, and another one weighing only 220 grams. They are getting VIP treatment! Priority at the nipples and a bottle every 4 hours, even at night.

Our “Zwart Wit” has a very special pattern! I can clearly see two hearts here. Can you see them too?

Since Monday, April 20, 2026, we have another litter from our “Uschi,” also 9 puppies. The whelping box is in the living room. Now we share the night shifts. Paul, my wonderful husband, sleeps with ‘Caro’ in the kitchen, and I sleep in the living room with “Uschi.”

I always have the baby monitor with me.

We are so sad; we just lost our little boy after a four-day struggle.
We did everything we could and still had hope today that he would pull through.
But an hour ago, he took his last breath.
Rest in peace, my little boy
it hurts.

“Caro’s puppies are now 10 weeks old, and it’s time to introduce the puppies staying with us to the big wide world. We always start with a short walk around our neighbourhood, out to the street.

Our puppies from Caro and Uschi are now spread across 10 countries: Taiwan, Finland, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Ireland and, of course, one in Belgium.
