Visit from the Warner Brothers/RTL film crew

On the Thursday before the exhibition in Maastricht, there was a lot going on here!

We got new bamboo privacy screens on both sides of our courtyard. At 6:45 in the morning, the craftsmen arrived with their materials. By 5 p.m., everything was finished and tidied up. Around 2 p.m., our Chris van Beirendonk came to pick up the old screens with her trailer; she could still make good use of them.

This is the result on one side:

At 9:30 a.m., Wilhelm Verhoef was at the door with his camerawoman Dorit. Wilhelm works for RTL Netherlands at Warner Brothers and would like to do a live story on dog breeders and exhibitors. He already accompanied us in March at the exhibition in Bleiswijk. Now he wanted to take lots of footage at our home to create a trailer, which he hopes to sell and turn into a series.

It was VERY time-consuming, but also exciting. As a precaution, I had already washed and brushed ‘Peter’ on Wednesday. ‘Heidi’ also had to be washed, dried and brushed a little for the filming. All the trophies and rosettes were filmed extensively. But also the work with the craftsmen and Chris picking up the old screens. Just normal everyday life…

A long interview was conducted and many, many everyday things were recorded.

By around 6 p.m., everything was in the box, as they say in the film business.

Paul had his chess evening and I spent another 3.5 hours brushing ‘Heidi’.

On Saturday at the exhibition in Maastricht, Wilhelm, a cameraman and a sound engineer were at our side. Many shots were also filmed here. Other exhibitors asked me whether I was now going to become a film star……
