Shows October 2021
An exciting month so far!
In Fehraltorf, Switzerland, there are 4 exhibitions over 3 days in summer and autumn. On Friday October 8th there was a CAC show in the morning and the 1st CACIB show in the afternoon. A CACIB show on October 9th and October 10th. Everything takes place outdoors, with or without weather. You get a CAC in every class. If the dog has won 3 CACs, then he gets the title “Swiss Show Champion”. This entitles you to enter in the champion class. This is of course an easy matter if you are either lucky and / or have a great dog. The entry fee for these 4 exhibitions is 350 euros.
It was a great temptation to show our 16 month old “Ocean” there ……. but I have 2 litters and Paul who slept next to the whelingbox for the last 14 days. I couldn’t possibly resist running the business alone here from Thursday to Sunday night. Dear Martina Weissmann is an enthusiastic exhibitor and I was able to get her excited about my project. All she had to do was to see if she could get time off on Thursday and Friday. The next day the message came: I can register Ocean, she can go. Of course, she registered her “Ziva” aka “Sexygirl aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal “as well. She had to drive alone with the 2 girls and manage the project on her own. Pretty brave. There is always a lot to lug around with the exhibition baggage and 2 dogs. For Friday I was able to hire the kind Chris Bolfinger to show “Ocean” in the intermediate class, so that Ms. Weissman could present her Ziva in the champion class.
Of course I also drew Mr. Grimm’s attention to these shows with his “Tannhäuser”. However, it makes no sense to show on Friday, as his male only turned 15 months on Saturday and could have won the coveted CAC from the intermediate class. Ms. Weissman was provided with the two girls for Saturday and Sunday with the help of Mr. Grimm.
In order to give this exciting project the best possible chance, Mr. Grimm (drives 3.5 hours to Maaseik) and Ms. Weissmann (drives 3 hours) came to me on Sunday the 4-10 am to get the final touch for “Ziva” and “Nitro” from me.
Ziva Nitro (Tannhäuser)
The result after almost 7 hours of work. Afterwards Ms. Weissman took our “Ocean” with her.
The interesting thing about the registration portal dogshowonline is that some exhibitions publish the registration statistics after the registration deadline. That was nice, we knew that Mr. Grimm was the only one with a male. Ocean was alone in her class and so was Mrs. Weissman’s Ziva. On Friday, however, 1 bitch was still registered in the open class. Afterwards it turned out that there were two different bitches from Switzerland who didn’t come back on Saturday and Sunday.

In the afternoon our Mrs. Weissman won with hers “Sexgirl aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” the group 1. judge was Mrs. Brankowich from Serbia. II was really happy for Ms. Weissmann and Ziva. Of course we were connected via whatsapp. “Ocean” won her 3rd CAC that day and became “Swiss Show Champion”

Now our Mr. Grimm just has to go back to Switzerland if there is the next chance to win a CAC.
On Tuesday evening, 12-10, Ms. Weissman and I met near Bitburg to bring “Ocean” back home. It’s great when you get so much support.
The impressions from Switzerland:
The show on Friday started at 8:30. It was dry every day but really cold .. Ocean and Ziva didn’t care.

“Ziva” also won her Swiss title on Sunday.
On Sunday 10-10 a CAC show was organized in Genk / BEL (only 20 km from Maaseik). Everything was decorated on the theme of Halloween. Ms. Melchior from Luxemburg judged 7 OES. There were 2 males and 5 females. Only 2 of them weren’t “Of Snowbootbears” OES ”
The beautiful decoration must of course be used for photos. Lilo is always ready to act as a model
Best bitch went to Ch. Seejungfrau aus dem Elbe-Urstomtal
Lilou best bitchn, Best Juniorbitch was “The Amazing Piper of Snowboot Bears”owned by Philippe Truffin
Best of Breed went to “Quality for us of Snowboot Bears” who also became Belgian champion that day. Congratulations to Chris, Claire and Lillianne
Lilou was BOS Ch. Seejungfrau aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal
Martin and Denisa from Prague were busy exhibiting. On October 23rd and 24th they were with Ch. “Q’Mona Lisa aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” at the double CACIB show in Salzburg/Austria. On the first day she got an Excellent 2nd place and on the other day Excellent 1, CAC. Now “Mona” is only missing 1, CAC for the title Austrian Champion.
On October 30th / 31st they were also in Bratislava/Slovakia on a double CACIB show. On Saturday “Mona” was CACIB, CAC and best bitch. With this CACIB Mona fulfills all conditions for the title International Champion. On the 2nd day “Mona” lost to her 15 month old daughter and received the Res-CACIB, CAC. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos
The Bundessieger show was organized from 22-10 until 24-10-2021. Normally this show has been held in the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund for 40 years. Allegedly that was not possible because of Corona. Therefore this show took place on 3 days on the greyhound race track in Gelsenkirchen. In other words: OUTDOOR ……. on the same weekend there was an event in the Westfalenhallen with 12,000 spectators ….. I can’t understand that.
On Friday it was stormy and cold and rain …… Some of the cars had to be pulled out of the parking lot, which was a meadow, with tractors. Saturday was less bad from the weather and Sunday should stay dry.
We had entered Cooper and Lilou for Ms. Heide Müller. A total of 11 OES were registered but only 8 showed up, 4 males and 4 females. It was our turn at 1 p.m. The 2 days before it was a traffic chaos and people were standing in a traffic jam in front of the entrance. We had therefore decided to leave at 9 a.m. and should normally be there by 10.30 a.m. everything was packed, the tent, rain jackets, warm jacket. Scarf, hat and gloves and rubber boots.
my wellingtons
“Cooper” was near our car with his socks on at 8 o’clock and wanted to get in.
We left at 9 o’clock. No traffic jam, no rain, we parked at a distance of 10m from the entrance. The meadow on which the rings were located was fairly dry. It was fresh but around noon it was 15 degrees and sun.
We were ready to go. Mr. Grimm had also joined us with his “Tannhäuser”.
Only the judge, Ms. Müller, was 20 minutes late due to a total failure of her navigation system.
Our males did not fulfill our hopes and “Tannhäuser aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” took 2nd place in the intermediate class. He is 15 months and his competitor was 23 months. Of course we found that “Tannhäuser” had a lot more coat and didn’t limp while running.
“Cooper” Rock me Amadeus aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal was alone in the open class. For reasons inexplicable to me, he was not the best male, but the short-haired male from the champion class, who did not show himself 100% when running. “Cooper” maked his grumble once again when touched from the judge, that accompanies with happy wagging his tail.
“Cooper” was presented this time by Melissa van Oosten.
The class winners:
