Exhibitions in September 2025

The National Show in Zwolle on 13 September 2025 is a two-hour drive for us. We didn’t actually need anything for our dogs in terms of qualifications. But the judge, Mr R. Douma from the Netherlands, is worth the trip. Only our two girls were registered. At the same time, the French club’s anniversary show was taking place in France, and the other competitors had travelled there to exhibit.

The weather forecast was not good and rain was expected. Zwolle is an outdoor show. ‘Caro’ was Best of Breed and ‘Heidi’ was Reserve Best Female.

It remained dry until Group 1 was judged, and then it began to pour with rain.

Mr G. Schäfer from Germany judged Group 1 and declared our ‘Caro’ the group winner. This was her seventh group victory in four different countries in 16 months. That is quite an achievement!

We had a wonderful weekend trip to Milan. But our exhibitors were busy:

Chris van Beirendonk was at the British Herding Dog Show in Genk on Saturday, 20 September 2025, with ‘Winnetou aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’. There, Mr David from Spain judged all the British herding dogs. ‘Winnetou’ won Best of Breed and Reserve Best in Show.

On Sunday, the national show was held in Genk, Belgium, where Ms. I Hectors/BEL judged ‘Winnetou aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ as Best of Breed, and he has now won his Belgian Champion title. He was among the last six in Group 1.

‘Winnetou’, the judge Ms Hectors and Best Female ‘Aryakas Athena’ were the only two OES entered.

At the British Herding Dog Show in Kaltenkirchen on Sunday, 21 September 2025, Mr K M Jensen from Denmark was the judge. His Best of Breed was Gesa Milde with“Ch. Wanted you aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”

Two-day exhibition in Maastricht on the last weekend of September. On Saturday, we had two changes of judge. On Friday evening, at around 10 p.m., we were informed that we would not be judged at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, but at 3 p.m. instead, by a Croatian judge. That was Ms S. Simons, whom we had never heard of before.

Three males and four females were registered. (Two males in the champion class and one female in the champion class)

On Sunday, Dutch all-rounder Hans van den Berg was the judge. This time, three males and three females (two males in the champion class and one female in the champion class) were registered.

Overall, it was nice for us to become Res-Best Male and Res-Best Female with two young dogs. BUT, the judges’ reports were not satisfactory. On Saturday, Peter was short and narrow behind, Heidi was short-legged. On Sunday, Peter was a bit long, but moved well. Heidi was too long in the forehead. What nonsense! On Sunday, the placement of the males really needed a deep breath .

We spent a few more hours at the ringside on Sunday and had a cosy afternoon with the Meijer family and Pleuni Hoogwerf.

Best female ” Joy with Jive from Rocky’s Desteney” owner. Pleuni Hoogwerf, the judge Mrs. Simons, Res- Best female “X’Texas Amarillo aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”

On Sunday, it was different for the males. That took some getting used to.

The best male was ‘Waco of Hillbilly Heights’ owned by C. Calmerman van Wouwe, judged by Mr v.d. Berg. , Res- Bester Rüde “X’Texas El Paso aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”

Best of breed  ” Joy with Jive from Rocky’s Desteney” Owner. Pleuni Hoogwerf, the judge Mr.  H. v.d. Berg , Res- Best female “X’Texas Amarillo aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
