Exhibitions in September 2024

September was very relaxed for us. Only at the end of the month was the double CACIB show in Maastricht. That’s almost round the corner from us, a 30-minute drive and always very cosy. We didn’t need anything, but I still entered ‘Caro’ on both days. Lilianne and Maike Friederich gave us the ‘skipper’ for Saturday. There were only 5 OES registered on both days.

On Saturday, Mrs L. Mouchart from the Netherlands judged. This was excellent for us, with outstanding judge’s reports.

Best male was Ch. ‘Udo Jürgens aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ owned by Maike and Lilianne Friederich

Best of breed was our 24 month old Ch. ‘ Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’

Chris van Beirendonk quickly took over the ‘ Skipper’ for the photo

Group 1 was judged by the young daughter of Paul Lawless from Ireland, Mrs Kelly Lawless. Unfortunately, she has not seen the quality of our ‘Caro’.

On day 2, the well-known Dutch all-rounder Mr R. Douma judged. ‘Skipper’ had stayed at home and so we had a relaxed day with just “Caro” at the start.

She received a wonderful judge’s report from Mr Douma, who showed that he knows exactly what the breed standard for Old English Sheepdogs says.

‘Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ became Best of Breed and “Stairway to Heaven Take That” from Nel and Sjaak Meijer Best Male

Robbie und Caro

The ring of honour was supposed to be judged by the Irishman Paul Lawless. We realised that this was not the case in Group 1, when we were all waiting for the judge. It was to be judged by Mrs Chiodi from the Netherlands. Suddenly, Mr Douma came into the ring and had to take over the judging on the spur of the moment.

That was really good for our ‘Caro’, Mr Douma gave us 2nd place in Group 1 and we were more than happy.
