Exhibitions in November 2023
The Bundessieger and Herbstsieger exhibitions usually take place in October. This time it was at the beginning of November in the Dortmund exhibition halls. After the Corona period, finally together again with the horse exhibition, the Mecca of dog people for 3 days. We had the Bundessieger Show on Friday and the Autumn Winners Show on Saturday. Many dear friends and former puppy buyers always come by to say hello. It’s tiring, but also very beautiful.
Friday morning through the Ruhr area with work traffic is always a risky thing, traffic jam or no traffic jam… That’s why we left here at 6 a.m. and were in front of the halls at 7:30.
Check-in was promptly at 8.30. Not a minute earlier, thank God, it was dry.
The judging started at 10 a.m. sharp. Our judge was Ms. S. Boyd from Germany. There were 21 OES registered, but 7 dogs were missing, most of them males.
We should have a great day!
“Caro” made the start: Excellent 1 in the youth class, title Bundesjugendsieger “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal
“Uschi” completed the day with Best of Breed, Bundessieger and has now fulfilled the conditions for German and German Club Champion.
Ch. “Uschi Glas aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
“Ch. Verliebt aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” was Res -CAC winner in the champion class behind “Uschi”. Unfortunately, on the 2nd day she was only excellent in 3rd place
There were very nice honorary gifts from the British Shepherd Club from Team Rheinland, thanks to our dear Mrs. Honnef, who always looks after the exhibitors excellently. “Uschi” got a bobtail figure that is illuminated and “Caro” got a big toy rope, which she really enjoys.
The Ring of Honor was around 5:15 p.m. with Group 1, judged by Mr. Machetanz. I expressed my opinion to him 7 years ago and since then I have been overlooked in the Ring of Honor when he judges. I can live with that.
“Uschi” in Group 1
At around 6 p.m. Group 1 Junior was judged by Prof. Friederich/GER and that was great. Our “Caro” became Res-Best Junior in the large group 1
“Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
“Caro” has a perfect movement
there was a big trophy for us.
Very tired, but very happy drove we to our hotel around the corner of the exhibition halls. I have been in this hotel already 38 years ago. It’s simply brilliant because it’s within walking distance of the trade fair. It had to be celebrated! With our meal there was a bottle of red wine and then two gin fizzes for me in the bar. Since I drink very little alcohol, I was a little buzzed and funny.
The next morning we didn’t have to get out until 6 a.m., to wait in front of the hall again at around 7:30 a.m. If you get there on time, you have a good place in the hall and time and peace before the match. The Frenchman Mr. Dupas judged around 11 a.m.our breed. There were 19 OES registered for the Herbstsieger exhibition and 18 were present.
Today everything was perfect for us again.
“Caro” again Best Junior “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
“Uschi” also again Best of Breed Ch.”Uschi Glas aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”
Catch of the day
It was 12:30 and the Ring of Honor was supposed to take place at 6:10. There was no junior competition for the Herbstsieger exhibition.
The long wait was rewarded! Mr. Dux, a German all-rounder, judges the full large group 1.
“Uschi” reached second place and there was a big trophy for us. Paul and I were very happy.
also our “Uschi” has a wonderful gait typical of the breed. An OES should move like an OES and not spectacularly like an Afghan Hound
We were back home at around 8.30 p.m., tired but very happy.
“Uschi” and “Caro” had a lot of fun on Sunday with the rope that “Caro” won on Friday. In the background under the donkey picture is the beautiful bobtail lamp that “Uschi” won. Can be ordered from Mr. Lutz Dönges, he is on Facebook
On Saturday there was the international exhibition in Metz/France. The judge was Mr. Salvatore Gianonne/F.
Best of the breed was Gesa Milde with her Ch. “Pulverfass aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”, BOS was “Ambasstown My Dream of Paradise”, Bes. Mrs. Drayss
Gesa Milde has been bitten by the showvirus again. She was with her “Ch. Pulverfass aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” 2 days at the international show in Karlsruhe/GER. There were 14 OES entered for the judge Mr Dux/GER. He awarded Best Male with CACIB to “Pulverfass“. Angelika Bardelli showed her “Ch. Verliebt aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” in the intermediate class on both days. Both days she won her class with CAC and VDH-SA
Best of breed was the bitch of Mrs Claudia Schibler from Switzerland”Argovian Quest for Love”
left Pulverfass, the judge Mr Dux and Mrs Schibler with her bitch
There was also a change of judge on day 2. Now the judge was Mr S. Sinko from Slovenia. Pulverfass received the CACIB and CAC
The Winter Wonderland Show in Herning, Denmark, also took place this weekend. It must be a really great show, beautifully decorated in winter and Christmas spirit. I think there were 5000 dogs per day. Gerda Jolink made the journey with her “Ziva”. There were 18 OES entered on Saturday, 6 of them in the champion class with “Ziva”. The judge was Mrs Korocz-Papp from Hungary. Out of this big and strong competition “Ch. Ulta Chic aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” became Best Bitch with CACIB, CAC and got a new title: Danish Champion
This was a pleasure for me as a breeder and a great reward for all the efforts of Gerda and “Ziva”
BUT, it got even better! On day 2, 16 OES were entered for the Norwegian Mrs Sonberg. She found “Ziva” a typical OES and made her BEST OF THE BREED. She was also awarded the title: Danish Winner 2023
the best Male “Asticlown’s Wild E. Coyote , the judge Mrs Sonberg and Best of Breed Ch. “Ultrachic aus dem Elbe Urstromtal”

November will conclude with the “Winner Leeuwarden Show” on November 26th, 2023. This exhibition used to be in Amsterdam and it was always the highlight of the season and coveted title “Winner Amsterdam”. Now it’s “Winner Leeuwarden”. This city is located in the far north of the Netherlands, almost a 3 hour drive for us. That requires staying overnight in a hotel, and then you still have to get up at 5:45 a.m. so that you can be at the halls by 7:30 a.m. and be at your place by 8 a.m. There were 16 OES registered for the Dutch judge Mr. Douma, 8 males and 8 females. Amilia Helin came from Sweden with her Rolfi. He was in the strong male champion class with 3 very strong and large males. “Multi Ch. Seepferdchen aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” is not a big male, but square with a neck and everything you could wish for. But unfortunately he wasn’t big enough for the judge and ended in 4th place.
“Rolfi” is in the middle here, the fourth big long male is unfortunately not visible.
“Caro” Int-J-Ch. Bundesjugendsiegerin “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” only had 1 competition in the youth class, which she won. Mr. Douma was completely enthusiastic about our “Caro” and gave her 1st place with the title “Youth Winner”. In the Best Female competition, my Paul had to show her because I was also in the ring with “Uschi”. “Caro” became Res- Best Female behind our “Uschi” and received a double CAC. Simply magnificent.
“Caro” then became best youth dog of the breed over male dogs ” Stairway to Heaven Take That”
However, that wasn’t the highlight of the day! At the very end of the long day, the competitions took place in the large ring of honor. Mr. D. Baars/NL judged the groups from 1 to 10 of the best young dogs. Our “Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” won Group 1. What a gigantic success for our breeding.
But now two of our girls are still missing from the report! “Multi Ch. Uschi Glas aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” had to compete in the female champion class against “Ch. Ultachic aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”. Competition from our own kennel. “Uschi” won the winner’s class and became Best Female with a fantastic judge’s report. With this judge’s report she should have won Best of Breed…Now “Uschi” is Winner Leeuwaren 2023, she also won this title in 2022.

The Zagreb Winter Classic Show also took place this weekend in Zagreb/Croatia. That’s 4 shows in 3 days. “Verliebt aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” won her class with CAC at all shows and now carries the title “Croatian Champion“, the 3rd title for this young girl.
