Exhibitions in July 2026

Fortunately, the weather was warm and summery on the first weekend in July. A double show took place in Paperdaal near Arnhem, the Netherlands. “Peter” hadn’t been shown since December 2025 and was now, at 27 months old, ready to complete his titles. His sister “Heidi” had enjoyed great success at a few shows, but now she too was ready to complete her Dutch and international titles.

The showgrounds are vast and pose a real challenge for exhibitors with heavy luggage.

We were in wonderful company: our Irish girls, Justina and Monika, had flown to Amsterdam, together with their top winner, the Bearded Collie Ch. “Firstprizebears Vin Diesel”. Justina took over my famous Bearded Collie kennel three years ago. She won the Dutch Championship and came second in the group. It was a case of déjà vu. We used to stand on the podium very often with both our breeds.

‘Peter’ and ‘Heidi’ were the only OES entered. Why? No idea – the judges were very interesting. On the first day, a Norwegian judge, Ms M. Holmli, judged, and on the following day, the British judge Mr K. Young.

We didn’t mind; we would have preferred to win against some competition.

Day 1, “Ch. X’Texas El Paso aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” – CACIB, CAC, BOB. The group was also judged by Ms Holmli, and “Peter” came third. He now has three new titles: Dutch, International and Danish (he won a CAC in Denmark last May. Now, at 27 months and with a Champion title, he was also allowed to work towards the Danish title)

Day 2: ‘Ch. X’Texas El Paso aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ – CACIB, CAC, BOB. The group was judged by Mr Louis Kruger from South Africa, and ‘Peter’ came second.

Ch. ‘X’Texas Amarillo aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ – CACIB, CAC, BOB, new Dutch Champion

On Sunday 5 July 2028, Gesa Milde was once again at the British Herding Dog Club’s special breeding show in Hohenlockstedt, Germany, in the north of the country. The judge there was Ms E. Stotuth (GER)

Best of Breed: “Ch. Wanted you aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal”. After six months of showing, “Floris” is the most successful OES in Germany.

Best Female in the Baby Class: Wunderschön’s Absolutelychic (Winnetou aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal x Ultrachic aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal)

A double show also took place at the weekend in Pärnumaa, Estonia. It rained heavily – outdoors!

The young male dog “Limmerick aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” performed well at both shows and was able to complete his Estonian Junior Champion title. His proud owner is Gerulis Vaidas

I had warned my dear Martina Weissmann!!!! NEVER enter a dog in a show judged by Ms Kerstin Selle. She’s already torn my Beardies to shreds the one time she had the chance.

But unfortunately, Martina didn’t listen to me. After all, there were only two Bobtails entered, and it was just round the corner from Martina’s place in Speisen on 12 July 2026. The Special Breed Show of the British Herding Dogs Club.

“West Side Story aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” holds the following championship titles: Int-NL-BEL-LUX-D-VDH-CH-Ch., Best in Show in Dormagen 2025.

Today she was awarded a ‘GOOD’ by Ms Selle. It was world-renowned judges, who judge regularly all over the world, who awarded her the qualifications for these many titles. Do all these well-known, international judges have no idea?

Or did the internationally unknown judge, Ms Selle, get it right?
