Exhibitions January 2025
The new year brings new opportunities and new goals. I thought I’d go completely mad again and register Heidi, Peter and Caro for the International Show in Genk/Belgium. That’s only 30 kilometres away, a manageable hall, so it must be possible. BUT: Keeping Peter and Heidi clean before the show was a mega task…… Caro is quite relaxed and does Bellafigura.
I washed and brushed Peter and Heidi on Monday and Tuesday. On Friday it was Caro who just had to be brushed again quickly. She had been washed and brushed the Sunday before. On Saturday it was Heidi and Peter’s turn to wash the beard and feet and dry them. Then brushing and then they were only allowed to drink when we stood next to them with the towel to dry their beards.
It was cold outside, but thankfully no more rain. The feet had to stay dry and clean. Heidi and Peter had to put their socks on for the first time. It’s always funny to see how they then walk: as if on stilts. Peter was relaxed, but Heidi tried to take them off again. You can watch the video.
At the show they had to learn to stay in the cage/bench. Heidi tried to scratch the softbench first. So, Caro got out of her steel cage and Heidi got in. Caro didn’t like this so much. Peter sat very nicely in the soft cage, but drooled all over his chest and feet. This had to be powdered with potato flour and dried. We were lucky and were not judged until around 11am by Mr Wauben from the Netherlands.
There were only 5 OES registered, including the 3 of us. That’s stress! ‘Peter’ had to start first in the junior class males, Paul showed him and did a nice job.
‘X’Texas El Paso from the Elbe-Urstromtal’ 9 months old
Then it was Heidi’s and my turn. That went quite well, but standing still isn’t her thing yet. The judge was very enthusiastic about our Heidi and made her Best Junior.
‘X’Texas Amarillo from the Elbe-Urstromtal’ 9 months old
Next was an intermediate class bitch and then it was our Caro’s turn. She made a smooth run to best of breed.
Best of breed ‘Vorbildlich aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’, the judge Mr Wauben, best male ‘Ch. Vigilats Rhapsody in Blue’.
‘Caro’ became Belgian and International Champion on this day
in group 1 Caro was 3rd under the judge Mr Mitrevski from North Macedonia. 1. was a Border Collie also from this country…..
Peter and Heidi were very tired after this exciting day and we were very happy with our dogs.
The sister of Heidi and Peter ‘X’Texas Lonestar aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ owned by Mrs Bardelli from Switzerland was also at a show in Italy this Sunday. She has already completed 6 shows in December.
Monika Rigold, a well-known breeder from Italy, was kind enough to show ‘Grace’ for Mrs Bardelli. She has a health problem and cannot walk. Thank you dear Monika for your sporting behaviour.
Cernobbio/Italy, judge Mrs C. Delmar/Ireland.
BOS, Best Junior and new FCI International Junior Champion ‘X’Texas Lonestar aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’.
Martina Weissmann was with her ‘Tilly’ 2 days at the double Int- Show in Kassel/GER.
On Saturday she started for the first time in the intermediate class. The judge was Mr B. Vandale from Belgium and he gave our beautiful Tilly a ‘very good’.
On Sunday the German all-rounder Mr W. Güllix judged and he found it to be an excellent dog and ‘Tilly’ won her first CAC with VDH CAC.

Almost forgotten…… On Sunday Chris van Beirendonk travelled with her ‘Winnetou aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal’ (brother of ‘Tilly’) to Paris/F. for the Int-Show. The first time in the intermediate class, judge was Mr Keriheul/F.
