No Summerbreak in July for the shownews

It is summer and you would think this is the holiday season. True, but still the Elbe-Urstromtaler is busy exhibiting.
On Sunday the 2nd. July there was an evening show in Echt / Netherlands. This is 6 km from my home. Judge Mr. Van Daele from Belgium could not convince me to exhibit my Norman. But Nicole Neicken with her Ostwind and Willy van Opijnen with “Pippa” have taken the risk. The weather was splendid and I had promised Willy to show “Pipa”, because her health did not allow her to exert any effort in the evening.
When the weather is great, a show in the open is always something special. So it was in Echt. 11 OEs were registered – 3 males and 8 bitches. “Pippa Middelton aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” was in the youth class with 3 other bitches.

f.l.t.r.: Pippa’s Secret of Snowboot Bears (Excellent 1 BOS), Wiggly Scamp’s Joanne Blue Angel (Excellent 3), “Pipa” ad EU (Excellent2) und Wicked Wisdom’s Off Course (Very good 3)

als Nicole Neicken got a second place in the intermediate class with and Excellent for her  “Ostwind aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal

And “Q’Mondrian” and “Sydney” alias Queensize were allowed to sniff the exhibition air for the first time.

In England, the East of England Show took place at 9-7 in Peterborough / GB. Anne Titherrigde judged the OES. “Martha” alias “Obsession aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” won the second place in the postgraduate class, owner is Dr. Ann Hodgenson. The daughter of my beloved “Norman” (Multi Champion Norman Harrison aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal) won this class and received the Res-CC, her name Zottels Fairy Dust

Post Graduate Bitch – Zottels Fairy Dust, Obsession Aus Dem Elbe-Urstromatal at Ragglebarn, and Mopill Murmur

Following, there was an open show, the opportunity for a judge contender to learn.

Open Show – Special Yearling Bitch – Bovaron Charisma at Ambleoak, Mellowdee Lady Mae and Obsession aus Dem Elbe-Urstromtal at Ragglebarn

The sensation came from America! “Snowy” Ch. Never let you go aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” has received an invitation to the Top Twenty contest. This takes place at the annual Nation Specialty Show, which is held in Wilmington, USA, at the beginning of September. This is a great honour. Robert Kelly and his daughter Nicole are Very happy and I am grateful for everything they do for “Snowy” in the USA.

In order for “Norman” and I not to drop out of the exercise as far as exhibitions are concerned, we registered in Liege on 22-7-17. It was judged by the Irishman John Walsh Junior. There were 9 bobtails on site. We had to wait until 1pm and it was really warm in the halls. But it was worth it. “Norman” didn’t have as much interest for the competition, but it was enough to win best of breed. In group 1, a lady from Poland was the judge and although Norman ran like a young god he only reached the last 8 of group 1.

Nicole Neicken was also present with her “Ostwind aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” Sie won the intermediate class

Rotterdam / NL also has an international double show. On Saturday the Irishman Mr.Cox judged  the 9 OES. Willy van Opijnen’s “Pipa Middelton aus dem  Elbe-Urstromtal” still needed 1 CAC in the youth class to complete their Dutch Youth Champion. It was also the penultimate possibility, then she becomes 18 months and must start in the intermediate class. I would like to help and therefore I went to Rotterdam to exhibit “Pipa” for Willy. We had bad luck and ended up in 2nd place with a Res-CAC and Res- Best bitch

On Sunday I was on the show in Dormagen / GER and Willy had to do everything herself. She could not have done better! She won the youth class and received the Res-CAC and Res-Beste Bitch. Thus “Pippa Middelton from the Elbe-Urstromtal” now fulfilled all conditions for the title “Dutch Youth Champion” , as well as Benelux Jeugdwinner.

Judge was the charming Mr. J. Bond from Ireland

The open-air show in Dormagen should always be very beautiful. Dormagen is located near Neuss / Düsseldorf in Germany, only 85 km from Maaseik / BEL. If you are like me, 12 to 14 hours daily with some dogs and puppies busy, then you do not put your legs up on the weekend, but goes to a show. Because it’s so nice. IT WAS NICE! Great weather a relaxed atomosphere and good company. “Norman” also once again wanted to exhibit. Because “Doro” was an eternity on no show and otherwise has little to do, she was allowed to join. “Sydny” her 4 month old daughter could not stay alone at home. “Norman” found it great in this women’s round.
