December 2017

December, last month of 2017, is a very busy month for the exhibitions. For the Hardcore exhibitors, there is no contemplative advent season, no snow chaos, one criss-crosses the EU countries, to indulge his hobby. Thanks to all dear and crazy Elbe-Urstromtal exhibitors. You are wonderful

The first weekend in December was the double CACIB in Wels / Austria. Family Van Bossche was on stage with “Pepe” on both days. On the first day, the Austrian Mr. Bechthold judges. He gave Ch. Nochmal aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal the CACIB, CAC, and also the best of the breed. With this CAC “Pepe” fulfilled all conditions for the Austrian Champion. In group 1 Pepe finished a great 5th place.

On the second day the Belgian judge Mrs. Hectors were on duty, who had problems with the size of the Bobtails. It has apparently escaped that there is only a minimum, but no upper limit, for the OES. For “On Top aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal“  she wrote that namely in the judge’s report: at the limit, but still harmonious ……….

That’s why “Pepe” got only the Res-CACIB, CAC, because he is tall.

Post Graduate Bitch – Obsession Aus Dem Elbe-Urstromtal at Ragglebarn, Mellowdee Lady Mae, Brackenhome Summer Breeze, Bellablue Brooklyn at Alezurri

10-12-2017 Winner Amsterdam, the judge came from Brazil Mrs. Amaral. Norman had won Best of Breed on this show for 2 years and now we wanted to try the hat-trick. Unfortunately luck was not on our side this day. Mrs. Amaral found Norman carrying his tail too high. The standard says “Natural carried” ….. when is of course too high or too low carried? Maybe someone has an opinion on this. I can not stand the judges anymore, who do not know what is in the valid breed standard. Maybe an idea to have a written Version of the Standard in the ring, so that one can read it again before judging. That was the 3rd Allrounder in a short time, who does not know what is in the breed standard! A well-known all-rounder found the 18-month-old “Pipa” too light in color. I tried to explain the lady that a bobtail who is very light almost white in the age, afterwards gets aa dream color . Namely the wonderful pigeon blue. All others who do not lighten will stay dark, which is almost always brown. That’s just undesirable in the standard! The lady then wanted to explain to me that the light colour is like with  a blue-born poodle. However, Bobtails are Black  born. This brightens up a lot differently than with a blue-born dog. I know that very well from the Bearded Collies.

Sad but true.

Nevertheless it was a nice day and most Bobtail people had fun together

Norman won 2nd in Championclas. with Res-CACIB. Winner was Dorota mit Ch. Macoes Aspen, he became also BOB.

The last show of the year took place on 17-12-2017 in Gorinchem / NL. There, Mrs. van Veen-Keur judges the 13 OES. A perfect day for Willy and “Pipa”. She became Best of the breed  with “Pipa Middelton aus dem Elbe-Urstromatal“. The icing was the 3rd place in Group 1. Just wonderful Willi.
