At the weekend of December 7th and 8th, a double CACIB show took place in Kassel / GER. The first opportunity for Sidney to win her titles VDH and German Champion. In November 2018 she won her first CAC and now the 365 days were over and the remaining CAC’s had been won in the meantime. The judge was Mr. Dux from Germany. It’s been an eternity since I exhibited once under him. On the second day, Mrs. Stotuth judged our breed, it was a first time showing under her. For the second day I had registered Anna as well as Sidney. Because ….. if Sidney should win on the first day, on the second day I could try with Anna to win her last CACIB for the International Champion. 21 OES were registered on Saturday and 26 OES on Sunday.

On Friday we started our trip much too late, 1.30pm and we had to drive through the entire Ruhrgebiet area. After 5 hours and 30 minutes, i.e. 2 hours longer than usual, we arrived in our beautiful and very cozy hotel. For the dogs there was a small gift in the room: a cute dog bowl and a bag of dog biscuits. Sidney and Anna thought that was great. It poured the whole journey and nearly never stopped the whole weekend. It was a crime to get the dogs out for a pee and keep them dry.

Still, it was a SUPER weekend. Lots of dear acquaintances met in the hotel, good conversations were held and we had very delicious dinner …. EVERYTHING and even more we WON.

Saturday : Ch. Queensize aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal won Best of Breed and 3rd in Group 1, Judge was Mr.  Claus Peter Fricke/GER. Now Sidney is as well a German and VDH Champion

Also this weekend was the double show in Wels / Austria. “Sidney’s ” s sister “Ch. Q’Mona Lisa aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal“, owned by Martin and Denisa, was judged by Mr. E. Deutscher / A and he awarded her CACIB and CAC on Saturday. The Dutch judge Mr. G. Jipping on Sunday, here she became res-best bitch with CAC

Brussels is also a very well-known exhibition, which is actually a must go, just like the Winner Amsterdam. Therefore we had no choice and did enter for it.Setting  the alarm clock at 4.30am on 15-12-2019 to make sue  we could start at 6am. It was pouring and it was stormy. The 1.5 hour journey to Brussels was exhausting. Fortunately, it was not raining anymore at arrival.  As always, parked at the front of the halls. Unpacked everything, at the entrance we heard that the entrance this year is on the other side of the hall. Apparently there was a hint somewhere that 49% of all exhibitors had not read. Later, the entrance was opend  there. We had no choice but to pack EVERYTHING again, ie 2 dogs, cages, bags etc. and drive to the other side of the hall. There was a long way to the foyer, after that we had to wait for the elevator, which in turn took us to the ground floor. The elevator was not particularly big and very slow. When we finally found a place, we found out  that 70 dogs were judged in front of us. At 1.30pm it was our turn with Anna and Sonja. In Germany and Holland you know exactly when you have to go into the ring and can travel accordingly and do not have to wait for hours. But everything is voluntary!

9 OES were entered  1 Male Championclass and 1 in Veteran class, the rest were bitches

“Sonja”  “Rote Rose aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal” was in the intermediate class en ended up on 2nd place. On 1.12. they were also competitors, Sonja won and the other was in 3rd place out of 3. So it remains varied.  The judge was Mr. G. Jipping from the Netherlands.

“Anna” Ch. Q’Anna Anka aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal “save us the day and won best bitch and became best of the breed.

The long wait for the honor ring is after you won BOB is something you can’t change, even if you know that the judge doesn’t pay any attention to us.

“Anna” Q’Annka Anka aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal and the winner from the intermediate class “Remember the Sweet Dreams of Snowboot Bears

Championklasse bitches : Q’Anna Anka (1), Quick Kiss Me Quick of Snowboot Bears (2. ), Youandi Millesime

Best Male : Reatas Vector Space , the judge  Mr.  Jipping and Best of Breed Q’Anna Anka aus dem Elbe-Urstromtal

Then it was time to celebrate: Johny Kieffer from Luxembourg, Conny and my dear Chris Beirendonk, the husband of Francien and Maryse Cornelis

Anna and Sonja were also in a party mood

The last show for 2019! The Winner Amsterdam and the Christmas exhibition had come together. For as long as I can remember and that’s been since 1975 I’ve been to this famous show in Amsterdam every year. The RAI and the Europahalle were always a little goosebumps feeling on arrival. I went through times when there were 3 rings for the OES because there were 140 registrations. Winning the Winner Amsterdam has always been something special. The ultimate highlight and dream of everyone is Best in Show to win there, I did that in 2007 with my “Texas” Eldorado from the Elbe-Urstromtal. It’s over now, halls are too expensive and Amsterdam doesn’t want dog shows anymore. The Anti Dog Lobby makes it possible for people to think that dogs are tortured at shows and dogs don’t want to. The world is getting more and more worrying! The Christmas exhibition of the Nijmegen canine club is also a tradition. Everyone is somehow in the mood for Christmas, it is cozy and you say goodbye to everyone and wish you a happy new year.

It was all different now, both shows were merged from the emergency situation in Amsterdam. Gorinchem is the city where it now takes place. Last year the Primeur for the Christmas show was in this hall.

If you had survived the long queue at the entrance (there was only one door where everyone had to go through) somewhat dry in the pouring rain, there was initially space inside. That changed in 20 minutes. The space in our hall became narrower and narrower. The paths that should be kept clear around the rings and between the halls were more or less completed. It was tight. The halls are also dark due to the dark carpeting and the light turns the coat color of white dogs yellow and dark hair brown. Our 10 registered OES (2 were missing) were all close together, so that we had enough space, which we had to fight for. Mr. Blessing from Germany started judging on time at around noon. Chris Beirendonk had our “Dayton” with her. It is his last exhibition, unfortunately. He is still docked as a USA / Canada import and from 2020 no docked dogs can be shown in the Netherlands either. Infinitely a shame. It was a crowning finale for Chris and Dayton: Ch.Bagatell Deja Blue Moon became the best of the breed. My Sidney won the champion class and became best female “Ch. Queensize from the Elbe-Urstromtal”. Also for “Sidney” a goodbye to the shows because she is now old enough to get her first litter. “Sonja” made our day perfect again! She was registered in the youth class  and won Best Junior and Best Res. Therefore, she was allowed to compete for the best junior of the show of all breeds in the ring of honor around 6 p.m. There was a change of judge, not Mrs. Vermeire from Belgium but the newly chosen all-rounder Mr. Rob Douma from the Netherlands. He was thrilled by “Sonja’s” charisma and her super nice gait was crucial to give her the best in show.

So it was a father / daughter day.
